Prawns chilli roast

Prawn chili roast is a spicy appetizer/side recipe in which marinaded prawns are deep fried and coated with a tasty sauce.


To marinade:

Prawns         -20
salt                -to taste
chili powder  -11/2 tsp
turmeric         -1/2 tsp
lemon juice   -1 tbsp

For grinding:

shallots       -5
green chili  -1
ginger        -2 clove size
garlic         -2 clove


onion                         -1/3 cup finely chopped
tomato                        -1
curry leaves                -few
soy sauce                    -2 tsp
salt                              -to taste
oil                               -to deep fry

Preparation time:10 min+1 hr marinade
Cooking time     : 25 min


  • Marinade deveined and shell off prawns with the ingredients for marinating for  at least an hour.

  •  Fry the prawns until it turns golden and remove and keep it aside.

  • Grind the ingredients  given for grinding into a paste.

  •  In a pan heat oil and add the finely chopped onions.

  •  add the ground paste and curry leaves.

  • cook until the raw flavor goes off.
  • Follow it with tomatoes and desired salt.cook until it becomes mushy
  • Add the dark  soy and mix well.

  • Then add  the fried Prawns.Stir well to coat the prawns with the sauce

  • Serve as an appetizer or side .
    Serves 3-4
