Prawn Okra stir fry

Prawn okra stir fry is a simple recipe that goes well as a side with Rice.

Ingredients:

prawns                 -20
okra/vendakkai    -150 g
onion                   -2 tbsp
ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
salt                      -to taste
chili powder         -3/4 tsp
turmeric               -1/4 tsp
cumin powder       -3/4 tsp
curry leaves          -1 sprig
mustard seeds       -1/4 tsp
oil                        -1-2 tbsp



Preparation time:15 min
Cooking time     :15 min


Method:

  • Discard the edges of okra and cut into roundels. Devein the shell off prawns and clean thoroughly.
  • In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter and temper with curry leaves.

  • Fry ginger garlic paste and turmeric until the raw flavor goes off.

  • Follow it with chopped onions and okra roundels and fry for 5 minutes with necessary salt.

  • Now put the prawns with chili powder,cumin powder and toss well.


  • Keep stirring continuosly for 5-7 minutes until okra is tender and prawns are well cooked.

  • Serve as a side with Rice

Serves 3
