Goat brain fry/Moolai varuval

Goat brain is a delicate meat and highly constituted of fat.A simple yet a delicious dish that can be made with goat brain is goat brain fry.This when served with rice and rasam becomes a great meal that can make you easily gain some pounds.


goat brain/aatu moolai     -300 g
chopped shallots             -1 cup
green chili                      -1
cumin powder                -1/2 tsp
turmeric                         -1/4 tsp
chili powder                    -1 tsp
pepper powder                -1/4 tsp
salt                                 -to taste
curry leaves                    -few
sesame oil                      -11/2 tbsp

Preparation time:10 min
Cooking time      :15 min


  • Clean the goat brain and remove any unnecessary tissues.
  • In a pan heat oil and slitted green chili and chopped curry leaves.

  • Follow it with chopped shallots.

  • When it turns transparent add cumin powder,salt,turmeric,chili powder,salt,pepper powder.

  • Mix well and add the goat brain .Add little water nd cover it with a lid.

  • Cook for 10 minute( or until brain is cooked well) stirring in between carefully (without breaking the texture of the brain).

  • Goat brain fry is ready to serve
