Fish yellow cucumber curry/meen dosakkai kuzhambu
Yellow cucumber/dosakkai is mild watery flavored vegetableand it just tastes awesome when combined with fish in a tangy sauce.
Ingredients:
Fish fillets -2
yellow cucumber/dosakkai-1 small
sesame oil -1 tbsp
mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
fenugreek seeds -1/4 tsp
whole red chilis -2-3
curry leaves -few
onion -1/2 finely chopped
coriander powder -1 tsp
cumin powder -1/2 tsp
chili powder -1/2 tsp
turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
salt -to taste
shredded coconut -1 tbsp
sesame seeds -1 tbsp
tamarind pulp -1/2 lemon size pulp

Method:
- In a pan fry sesame seeds & shredded coconut until the sesame seeds start popping.
- In another kadai heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter.Follow it with cumin seeds ,fenugreek seeds,red chili, curry leaves.
- Add the chopped onions and fry until transparent.
- Now put coriander powder,cumin powder,salt, turmeric powder,chili powder and salt.mix well and switch off.Allow it to cool.
- Now grind it along with fried coconut and sesame seeds into a fine paste.
- Add the ground paste in the same kadai and add the cubed yellow cucumber /dosakkai(If the yellow cucumber is hard then fry them first for few minutes and then add the ground paste).
- After few minutes add salt if necessary and pour tamarind juice(taken out of 1/2 lemon sized tamarind pulp soaked in water).
- Cover and cook until the gravy starts boiling well.Now add the cubed fish fillets and cover again.Cook another 3-5 minutes until the fish gets cooked.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro.
- Serve over Rice/dosa/chapathi
