Asparagus stir fry(Indian style)


Asparagus            -1 bunch
shallots                 -2-3
ginger garlic paste -1/2 tsp
turmeric               - little
salt                       -to taste
chili powder         -1/2 tsp
oil                        -1 tbsp

To temper:

mustard seeds                 -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds                    -1/2 tsp
urad dhal/split black gram-1/2 tsp
chana dhal/bengal gram   -11/2 tsp


  • Discard  the thick edges of the asparagus.and cut  into roundels.
  • In a pan heat oil and temper with the ingredients to temper.

  • Add the ginger garlic paste, turmeric & chopped shallots.

  • Fry the chopped asparagus with adequate salt and chili powder.

  • Fry until asparagus well done.

  • Serve as a side with Rice.

Served 2-3
