fish masala

Fish masala


Ingredients:


onion                   -1 cup finely chopped
tomato                 -1 cup finely chopped
fennel  powder     -1/2 tsp
salt                       -to taste
cashews               -12-15
oil                        -1 tbsp

For marinating:

Fish                                -4 fillets
turmeric                          -1/4 tsp
kashmiri chilli powder      -11/2 tbsp
salt                                 -to taste
lemon juice                     -1/2 tbsp.

For roasting and grinding:

coriander seeds   -1 tbsp
red chillies          -2
shredded coconut-2 tbsp
garlic cloves        -3
ginger                  -1/4 inch
cinnamon            -1
cloves                  -2
cardamom            -1
curry leaves         -few
oil                       -1 tsp


Method:

  • Cube the fish fillets.In a bowl marinade fish  with marinading ingredients given for marination for at least 30 minutes.


  • In a pan heat oil and roast the ingredients given for roasting and grinding in a order as in pic











  • Allow it to cool off and grind it into a smooth paste.



  • n a pan heat oil and temper with cumin seeds .


  • Add the choppedd onions and cashews and fry until golden.


  • Add the tomatoes and cook until mushy.



  • When tomato gets completely cooked add the ground paste,fennel powder and salt.



  • Cook for  2 minutes and add 3/4 of water.


  • After 2 minutes add the marinated fish.

  • Keep cooking, turn the fish fillet cubes for the fish to get evenly cooked.When the fish is cooked completely garnish with cilantro.




  • Serve with   Rice/dosa/paratha/chapathi/idli
