Crab/nandu poriyal


cooked crab meat              -1 cup
onion                                -1/2 finely chopped
egg                                   -1
curry leaves                      -few
mustard seeds                   -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds                      -1/2 tsp
urad dal/split black gram    -1/2 tsp
green chili                         -3-5
salt                                   -to taste
turmeric                            -pinch
oil                                    - 2 tsp


  • In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter.
  • And temper with cumin seeds, urad dhal/split black gram ,curry leaves , turmeric , green chilies.

  • Add the onion and fry until transparent.

  • now add the crab meat and stir well .

  • Add the egg and adequate salt and cook for 3-5 minutes until the egg coats the crab meat.

  • Serve as a side Rice and Rasam/curries.

Serves    2-4
