chilli fish

Chilli Fish



Ingredients:

For marinade:

Tilapia fish fillets        - 4 cut into cubes.
egg                            -1
corn flour                   -3 tbsp
chili powder               -1 tsp
salt                            -to taste
ginger garlic paste       -1/2 tbsp
red food color            - optional

For sauce:

chopped ginger            -1/4 tsp
chopped garlic             -1/4 tsp
spring onion                 -few
cubed onion                 -1/2 cup
cubed bell pepper        -1/2 cup
soy sauce                    -2 1/2 tsp
chili sauce                   -2 tsp
tomato ketchup             -2 tsp
corn flour                     -1 tsp to thicken the sauce
salt                             -to taste
oil                               - to fry


Method:


  • In a mixing bowl mix fish cubes(make sure it doesn't have bones in it) along with the ingredients given for marinade.Marinade it for at least an hour.

  • In a pan heat oil and deep fry the marinaded fish in batches until golden.Remove and keep it aside.

  • In pan heat oil and fry chopped ginger and garlic until the raw smell goes off.

  • Add the spring onion whites. stir for few seconds.

  • Add the cubed onion, cubed bell pepper sprinkle some salt  and fry for 3-4 minutes.


  • Put soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup and mix well.

  • Add some water to it and cook until it boils.

  • Now add the fried fish into it.

  • Add a tsp of corn flour to it to thicken the sauce .
  • Garnish with spring onions.
  • Serve as an appetizer/side
