Roasted bell pepper chutney



Ingredients:

Red bell pepper              -1
tomato                           -1
chana dhal/bengal gram   -11/2 tbsp
curry leaves                   -few
red chilies                      -2
salt                                 -to taste
oil                                   -2 tsp
mustard seeds                 -1/4 tsp
urad dhal/black gram      -1/4 tsp


Method:


  • Roast the red bell pepper over the flame on all sides until tender and the skin peels off easily .If you have an electric stove you can roast it like in picture.


  • Once it is warm enough to handle with hands,peel the skin off and dice it into pieces


  • In a pan heat oil and fry chana dhal/bengal gram ,curry leaves, red chilies until golden.

  • Add in the chopped tomatoes and cook until it turns tender.

  • Once it cools down transfer it into the blender along with roasted and cubed bell peppers.
  • Blend it into a fine paste.
  • Heat little oil in a pan and temper mustard seeds and urad dhal/black gram.
  • Pour the tempering over the blend paste.

  • Serve with dosa/idli/chapathi
