Microwave khaman dhokla

Microwave khaman dhokla


besan/gram flour-1 cup
yogurt                -1/2 cup
shredded ginger  -1 tsp
turmeric              -little
salt                      -to taste        
green chillies      -1 chopped
sugar                   -11/2 tsp
oil                       -1 tbsp
eno fruit salt      -  1 tsp

for tempering:

oil                             -1 tsp
mustard seeds           -1/3 tsp
cumin seeds              -1/3 tsp
green chilies              -1
chopped cilantro       -little
chopped curry leaves-few
sugar                          -1/2 tsp


  • In a mixing bowl add besan/gram flour, yogurt, shredded ginger,green chilies , required salt,sugar and oil  with water to make a dosa batter consistency.

  • Grease a microwave safe pan with oil.

  • Add the eno fruit salt mix and immediately transfer it into the pan .

  • Cook for 5 minutes in microwave.(do not give any wait time once you add the eno fruit salt.cook it immediately)

  • Cut the dhoklas into desired shape and size.

  • In another microwave safe bowl heat oil for 1 minute.

  • Add mustard seeds and cook for 1 more minute.
  • Add the remaining tempering ingredients and cook for 30 seconds.

  • add a little water to it.

  • Pour in the tempering over the dhoklas.

Serves  4
