Aloo palak(potato spinach curry)

Aloo palak(potato spinach curry)



Ingredients:

potato                          -250 g
palak /spinach             -1 bunch
onion                           -1 cup finely chopped
green chili                   -2
cumin  seeds               -1/2 tsp
ginger garlic paste     -11/2 tsp
coriander powder      -11/2 tsp
chili powder              -1 tsp
amchur powder         -1/4 tsp
salt                             -to taste
turmeric                     -little
cream/milk                 -1 1/2 tbsp
oil                               -1 1/2 tbsp


Method:

  • In a pot cook potatoes adding water until its well cooked but not mushy.
  • Peel the skin and chop into cubes.Also Clean and chop palak finely.
  • In a pan heat oil and temper with cumin seeds.Add ginger garlic paste and fry until raw flavor goes off.

  • Add chopped onion and green chilies and cook until golden.

  • Make a concoction of coriander powder,chili powder,amchur powder,turmeric  and salt with little water.Add the concoction to the fried onions.



  • Add the chopped palak/spinach.Cook uncovered until the spinach gets almost done.

  • At  this stage add the cubed potatoes mix well and cook for 3 minutes.

  • Add the cream/milk to it and switch off in a minute.



Serves   4
