Mutton vathakal/kari vathakkal



Ingredients:

Mutton                    - 350 g
onion                      -1/2 roughly chopped
whole red chillies    -8-12
curry leaves            -few
turmeric                 -1/4 tsp
salt                        - to taste
cumin seeds           -1 tsp
oil                         -3-4 tbsp




Method:

  • In a pressure cooker heat oil and allow cumin seeds to splutter.

  • Add red chillies(break whole red chillies into two and deseed it),curry leaves.

  • Add the roughly chopped onions and turmeric into it and fry for a minute.

  • Add the cubed mutton pieces and stir well.

  • Put  salt.

  • Stir well add 1/4 cup of water and pressure cook for 6 whistles(or more  if needed for mutton cook)

  • Serve over Rice
