Beetroot poriyal
Ingredients:
Beetroot -1 1/2 cup chopped into cubes
onions -1/4 cup finely chopped
green chillies -3-5
curry leaves -few
mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
urad dhal -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
salt -to taste
oil -1 tsp
mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
urad dhal -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
salt -to taste
oil -1 tsp
Method:
- In a pressure cooker pressure cook beetroot adding little water for just 1 whistle.
- In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter
- Temper with urad dhal,cumin seeds ,curry leaves and green chillies.
- Add onions and fry until transparent.
- Now add the cooked beetroot and desired salt.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes and switch off.
- Serve as a side with Rice
