Dill Dhal

Dill Dhal


moong dhal           -1/4 cup
dill leaves              -1 bunch
tomato                   -1
ginger                    - 1/2 tsp finely chopped
green chillies         -2
hing                       -pinch
turmeric                 -pinch
cumin seeds           -1 tsp
oil                           -2 tsp
salt                          -to taste


  • Remove dill leaves from the thicker stems
    In a pressure cooker and chopped ginger and hing

  • Add the dill leaves and fry until it shrinks.

  • Add the chopped tomato and sliced green chillies .

  • After 2 -3 minutes add the washed moong dhal ,turmeric .

  • Add desired water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Once the pressure goes off open add required salt (and water if needed)

  • In a pan heat oil and temper with cumin seeds.

  • Add the tempering to the dhal and Serve with Rice/chapathi

Serves 2-4
