Achari Fish masala

Achari Fish masala



Ingredients:

Fish                      - 3/4 kg cleaned and cut
Onion                   -11/2 cups finely chopped
tomato                  -11/2 cup finely chopped
ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp.
turmeric                -1/4 tsp
chilli powder        -1/2 tsp
salt                        -to taste
oil                         -3-4 tbsp.

For Achari masala:


Red chillies              -3
mustard seeds          -1tsp
fennel seeds/sombu-1 tsp
onion seeds/kalonji-1 tsp
cumin seeds            -1/2 tsp
fenugreek seeds      -1/2 tsp

Method:

  • In a pan dry roast the ingredients given for achari masala until nice aroma comes out.



  • Allow it to cool off and blend it into a fine powder.


  • In a pan heat oil and add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown.


  • Add ginger garlic paste and turmeric and fry until raw flavor goes off.


  • now add the  ground powder and mix well.


  • Follow it with tomatoes and cook until nicely mushy.

 


  • Add desired water and cook until it boils.
                                    
  • Now put the fish spreaded and cover it with a lid.



  • Cook until fish is all done.


  • Serve with Rice.
Serves 4-6
