Moong dal payasam

Happy Tamil New Year to all


Moong dal payasam


moong dal           -1/2cup
jaggery                -3/4 cup
ghee                    -2tbsp
milk                    -1/2 to 1 cup boiled
cashews              -few
raisins                 -few


  • In a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and roast the moong dal until nice aroma comes out.

  • In a pot/ pressure pan add the roasted dal and cook along with little water .

  • Once the dal gets cooked add jaggery to it and mix well

  • In small pan add a tbsp of ghee fry the cashew and raisins.
  • Add into the payasam and mix well.
  • Add boiled milk  and switch off stove
  • Serve hot/cold
