Shrimp Pulav/Prawn Pulav



Ingredients:

shrimps/prawns     -300 g
Basmathi Rice       -11/2 cup
yogurt                    -1 tbsp.
onion                     -1 medium sliced
green chillies         -5-6
ginger garlic paste-1/2 tbsp.
whole garam         -for tempering
chopped cilantro   -1/2 cup
mint leaves           -1/4 cup
salt                        -to taste
ghee                      -1/2 tbsp.
Method:
  • Soak basmathi Rice for atleast 15-20 minutes.
  • In a pressure cooker heat ghee/oil and temper with whole garam and cashews.

  • When cashews turn golden add the onions and fry until transparent

  • Now follow it with ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw flavor goes off
  • Add the chopped cilantro, mint leaves and green chillies.
  • When it gets shrinked add the tomatoes .
 
  • Stir well and add salt and yogurt.
  • When it becomes mushy add shrimps .
  • After few seconds add drained rice .
  • Stir for a minute and add upto  2 and3/4 cups of water.
  • cover it and cook for a whistle.
  • Once the pressure goes off open and garnish with cilantro
  • Serve with raitha
