Tomato Thokku/Thakkali thokku


Tomato/thakkali         - 500g
oil                               - 6 tbsp
mustard seeds             -1/2 tsp
urad dhal                    -1/2 tsp
fenugreek seeds         -1/8 tsp
salt                             - to taste
chilli powder             - 2 tsp
turmeric                     - pinch


  • In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter
  • Add urad dhal & fenugreek seeds.

  • Add the finely chopped tomato and cook for  another 2 minute.
  • Now put desired salt,chilli powder,turmeric.

  • Cook until the oil oozes out.

  • Serve with Rice /chapathi/idli/dosa

Serves 2-4
