Spicy fish masala

Spicy fish masala

 

Ingredients

for marinate and fry

Fish                    -1/4 kg
chilli powder      -1/2tsp
turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
cumin powder    -1/4 tsp
tamarind juice    -1 tbsp
salt                      -to taste
oil                       -2 to 3 tbsp
 

for masala

onion                  -11/2
tomato                -1
ginger                 -1inch
garlic                  -4 cloves
chilli powder      -1/2 tsp
cumin powder    -1/4 tsp
corianderpowder-1 tbsp
pepper powder   -1/4 tsp
salt                     -to taste
oil                      -2tbsp
 
 

Method

  • marinate fish with first table ingredients keep it aside for 15 minutes.
 

  • Heat the tawa and add a tbsp of oil and fry the fish.

  • Take a pan, heat a tbsp of oil and add ginger,garlic,  1 onion( cut like a cube) . Fry until it gets cooked and add tomato.

  • Once tomato gets cooked allow it to cool down and  grind it to  a fine paste.
 
 

  • Heat the same pan heat a tbsp of  oil add half finely chopped onion and fry for a minute.
  • add the ground paste and cook for few minutes after which add the spicy powders
 
 
  •  mix well and cook for a minute,Now put the fried fish  and top it with the masala using a  spoon all over each fish (without actually stirring into the masala)
  •  
     
  • Cook for few more minutes in low heat.
  •  
  • Spicy fish masala is ready to serve.
Serves  2-4
