Aatu kaal paaya/goat leg paaya


Ingredients:

aatu kaal/goat leg   - 750 g
ginger                     - 1 inch
 onion                     -  1 finely chopped
tomato                    -   2 finely chopped
ginger garlic paste  -  1 tsp
curry leaves            -   few
coriander powder    - 1 tbsp
cumin powder         - 1/2 tbsp
pepper powder         -11/2 tsp
Chilli powder           - 2 tsp
salt                           - to taste
turmeric                   -1/4 tsp
cilantro                     -few

Method:

  •  In a pressure cooker cook goat legs/aatu  kaal along with crushed ginger,salt,turmeric,chilli powder along with 21/2-3 cups of water upto 45 minutes on medium/until well done.



  • In a kadai heat sesame oil and add onion and curry leaves.



  • Once it turns transparent add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw flavor goes off.



  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until mushy.



  •  Follow it with spice powders(coriander,cumin,pepper) salt and cilantro
  •  Mix well and add the cooked goat legs along with desired water if needed
  • Cook covered upto 10-15 minutes on medium
  • Serve with Rice/idli/idiyappam
 Serves 4
