Misir wat(ethiopian cuisine)
Ingredients:
toordal/masoor dal - 1 cupethiopian berbere spice mix - 1 tbsp
onion -11/2 cup finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
salt -to taste
oil -4tbsp approx
Method:
- In a pot/kadai add liberal amount of oil.
- Add onions to it and fry until it turns golden
- Add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw flavour goes off.
- Now add the ethiopian berbere spice mix and stir for 30 seconds
- Add 4 cups of water.
- Add the washed dal and cover the lid and cook on medium for 30-35 minutes until the dal is completely done.
- Now add the salt and stir well.
- Serve with Injera(*traditional ethiopian bread)or chapathi/paratha.
