Happy Pongal 2 All
Sweet Pongal(chakkarai pongal)
Ingredients:
Raw rice -1 cup
achuvellam -10 (big size)
cashews -10
raisins -10
cardamom - 3
ghee -5 - 6 tbsp
Method:
- in a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and fry cashews and raisins in it until brown and keep it aside
- Crush the achu vellam with a hammer finely and keep it aside
- wash and cook rice in 5 cups of water
- when the rice is almost done add cardamom powder,crushed achuvellam
- After the vellam melts add the fried cashews and raisins
- Stir well adding the remaining ghee slowly and switch off the stove
Serves 4
