Idli podi

Idli podi


Uraddal       -1 cup
chanadal     -5 tbsp
Red chili     -4 or 5
Tamarind    -1/2 inch
Hing           -pinch
curry leaves- few
salt             -to taste
oil               -1tsp


  • Roast all ingredients with a tsp of oil until nice aroma comes out.

  • Allow it to cool down and blend it into a powder (neither too fine nor too coarse)

  • Serve with idly or dosa with oil/ghee

  • Store it into air tight container.
