Coconut chutney

Coconut chutney


For grinding:

shreddedcoconut    - 1 cup
green chillies          -  2
garlic                       - 1 clove
salt                            - to taste
roasted chana dal     - 2 tbsp

For tempering:

oil                      - 1 tsp
mustard seeds    - 1/2 tsp
urad dhal           - 1/2 tsp
curry leaves       - few
red chillies         -1


  • Grind the ingredients for grinding adding desired water into a coarse paste.

  • In a pan heat oil and temper with mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Follow it with urad dhal,curry leaves and red chillies.

  • Pour the tempering into the chutney.

  • Serve with idli/dosa/pongal
