Country chicken Pepper masala(Nattu kozhi kuzhambu)
Ingredients:
country chicken - 750 g
small onion - 400g
tomato - 11/2
ginger garlic paste - 11/2 tbsp
curry leaves - few
pepper - 1 tsp
salt - to taste
turmeric - 1/4 tsp
oil - 2 tbsp
FOR GRINDING:
coriander seeds - 11/2 tbsp
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
fennel seed - 1/2 tsp
pepper corns - 1 tsp
khus khus - 1 tbsp
cashews - 6 whole
red chillies - 2
cloves - 2
cinnamon - 1/2 inch
Method:
- In a pan dry roast the ingredients given above for grinding until a nice aroma comes out

allow it to cool off and blend it in a mixer into a coarse powder and keep it aside

- In a pressure cooker add oil and fry small onion and curry leaves
- After the onion gets transparent add the ginger garlic paste
- After the raw smell goes off add the chopped tomatoes

Stir well for a minute and add the ground masala powder
Add salt and turmeric
Mix well and add the chicken
After few minutes add 11/2 cup of water and close the lid
Pressure cook for upto 5 whistles(or until the country chicken gets cooked because it takes longer time to get cooked than a normal chicken)
Open the cooker after the pressure goes off .
garnish with curry leaves
Serve with hot rice,idli,dosa
