Goldbeet Mushroom burger

Goldbeet mushroom burger is a great tasting vegetarian burger in which patties are made with sweet flavor of gold beet blended with meaty flavor of mushrooms and crunchiness of peanuts .The patties are topped up with nice cabbage salad to give a added flavor to the burger.


Wheat hamburger               -3 buns
mushroom                           -6 0z
Gold beet                            -1 medium peeled and grated
shallots                                -3
Roasted&unsalted peanuts -21/1 tbsp
garlic powder                       -1/2 tsp
cumin powder                      -1/2 tsp
oregano dried                      -3/4 tsp
corn starch                          -2 tbsp for binding
bread crumb                       -1/3 cup for coating
salt                                      -to taste
pepper                                -11/2 tsp
butter                                 -2 tsp
oil                                       -to shallow fry
Shredded cabbage            -1/2 cup
mustard sauce                   -2 tsp
onion&tomato slices          -as needed per your choice.

Preparation time:20 min
Cooking  time    :30 min


For the patties:

  • Peel and grate the gold beet.

  • In a pan melt butter and fry the chopped shallots until translucent.

  • Add the grated beet to it and stir fry for 3 minutes The add garlic powder,cumin powder,salt and pepper powder.

  • Mix well and after a minute add chopped mushrooms ,crushed peanuts.

  • Cook for two minutes and add dried oregano.

  • Mix well and cook until the beet is well cooked and loses its moisture content.Switch off the stove.

  • Add corn flour(approx 2tbsp or as needed for  binding).Mix well and let it warm up.

  • Then make it into even sized patties.Roll it over the bread crumbs

  • Heat oil for shallow frying and fry the  patties until golden  on both sides.

For salad:

  • Chop the cabbage finely and season it  with salt and pepper.
  • Take 2 tsp of mustard sauce & olive oil in a bowl  and mix well.Toss it as a dressing over seasoned cabbage.Cabbage salad is ready.

Assembling the burger:

  • Toast the burger buns and Arrange the patties on the base.Place onion roundels and then tomato slices.top them with cabbage salad and the burger bun.
  • Gold beet mushroom  burger  is ready to serve.

Makes  3 burgers
