Drumstick leaves/Murungai keerai  clear soup

Drumstick leaves /murungai keerai clear soup is a very healthy soup .Since drumstick leaves are rich in iron and protien this soup helps you eradicate tiredness and boosts up your energy level.
                                     


Ingredients:

Drumstick leaves /murugai keerai  -2 cups
shallots                                         -3
toor dhal/yellow pigeon peas         -3 tbsp cooked
garlic clove                                   -1
tomato                                          -1/2
cumin seeds                                  -1 tsp
green chili                                     -1
water                                           -3 cups
salt                                               -to taste
pepper                                         -to taste

Preparation time:20 min

cooking  time     :15 min

Method:

  • Crush cumin seeds,shallots,garlic clove one after other in a mortar pestle .



  • In a pot add the crushed cumin seeds,shallots,garlic clove,slit green  chili,drumstick leaves/murungai keerai ,crushed tomato along with 3 cups of water.Cover and cook for 15 minutes.



  • Strain the stock  thoroughly.You can just add few cooked drumstick leaves  for garnish.


  • Add desired salt & pepper and serve hot.
