Nandu thengaipaal kuzhambu/Crab in coconutmilk gravy

Ingredients:

Crab/nandu (precooked)- 750 g
onion                             -2 cup finely chopped
tomato                           -1/2 cup finely chopped
ginger garlic paste          -1 tbsp
curry leaves                   -few
green chillies                  -2 
coriander powder           - 1 tbsp
cumin powder                - 11/2 tsp
chili powder                   - 1-11/2 tsp
salt                                 - to taste
turmeric                         -1/4 tsp
coconut milk thick          - 1 cup
whole garam                  - to temper
oil                                  -11/2 tbsp
cilantro                           -to garnish

Method:

  • In a pressure cooker heat oil and temper with whole garam.

  • Add ginger garlic paste, green chilies and curry leaves and fry until the raw flavor goes off.

  • Add onions and fry until golden.

  • Now put all spice powders ,salt & turmeric .

  • Mix well.Add the finely chopped tomatoes and cook until mushy.

  • Add the cooked crab and mix well.


  • Add 1 cup coconut milk and 2 cups of water  

  • Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Garnish with cilantro.

  • Serve over Rice.
