Corn crisps/Corn murukku
Ingredients:
Rice flour -1/2 cup
frozen sweet corn -1/2 cup
cumin seeds -1/4 tsp
salt -1/2 tsp
chilli powder -1/2 tsp
hing -a pinch
turmeric -1/8 tsp
ghee -1 tbsp
oil -to deep fry
Method:
- Thaw the frozen sweet corn and grind it into a fine paste.
- In a mixing bowl add in rice flour,salt,chilli powder,turmeric and cumin seeds
- Heat ghee and pour in the hot ghee into a rice flour.Mix well.
- Now Pour the sweet corn paste and mix well to a soft dough(just like consistency of a poori dough)
- Heat oil for deep frying
- Make cylindrical balls and put it in a murukku squeezer.Press it in round shape(or any desired shape u prefer) over a plate.
- Deep fry it until golden when the oil is hot enough for deep frying.(To know if the oil is hot enough for deep frying put a small piece of the mixture into the oil .if it sizzles to the top right away then oil is ready)
- Serve as a tea time snack
