Tomato Kurma/Thakkali kuruma



Ingredients:

Tomato                    - 3 cups finely chopped
onion                       -1 cup finely chopped
whole garam           -to temper
salt                           -to taste
ginger garlic paste    -1tsp
chilli powder            -1/2 tsp
garam masala           -pinch
coriander powder     -1/2 tsp
turmeric powder       -1/8tsp
oil                             -1tbsp

 

For grinding:

Shredded coconut     -1/2 cup
green chillies            -2
fennel seeds              -1/2 tsp

Method:

 
  • In a blender grind the ingredients for grinding into a smooth paste adding little water.
  • In a pan heat oil and temper with whole garam
  • Add onion and fry until transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and turmeric until raw flavor goes off.
  • Add  finely chopped tomatoes and mix well.



  • Add coriander powder,chilli powder salt and cover it with a lid.
  • Cook until tomatoes are mushy and add the ground paste to it.



  • Mix well and add desired water(1-2 cups)



  • Cover again and cook until it is done.
  • Garnish with cilantro and sprinkle little garam masala on top for nice aroma.



  • This kurma is just easy and goes awesome with rice, idli, chapathi, dosa and even parathas
