Coconut milk muruku/thengai paal murukku


Rice flour                 -            4 cups
Moong flour            -            3/4 cup
Butter                       -             6 tbsp
Hot oil                      -             4 tbsp
Coconut milk           -              3/4 cup  (thick)
Sugar                       -              1 tbsp
salt                            -             to taste
oil                             -             to deep fry


To make moong flour,
  • Take  a pan and dry roast approximately 3/4 cup of  moong dal until nice aroma comes out.
  • once it gets cooled down blend it into a fine powder. Sieve the powder and measure it to 1 cup
  • Take a big bowl and  put the rice and moong flour and mix it together.

  • Add salt to taste.
  • Take a small pan heat butter once it melts and begins boiling switch off the stove and pour hot butter into the flour mixture.

  • Then in a big frying pan heat oil for deep frying.
  • Once it gets hot take a medium size spoon full of oil and  pour into the flour mixture  and mix well
  • Take a bowl heat the coconut milk and 1 tbsp spoon of sugar and mix well .

  • And add  (if u need add some water )to the mixture to make a smooth dough. little sticky dough is a perfect texture.

  • Take a little dough and put into murukku squeezer.

  • Press it into hot oil into murukkus and fry until golden.

  • Serve it as a snack.
