Sesame chutney
Ingredients:
Sesame seeds - 1/2 cupShredded coconut - 1 cup
red chillies - 2
garlic cloves - 2
tamarind paste - 1 tsp
salt - to taste
For tempering:
oil - 1 tspmustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
curry leaves - few
red chilli - 1 broken into 2
Method:
- In a pan dry roast sesame seeds until they starts popping up and nice aroma comes off(Keep stirring to uniformly roast it)
- In a mixer blend sesame seeds ,shredded coconut,garlic,red chillies,tamarind paste and desired salt.
- Add water and blend it again
- heat oil and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,red chillies.
- Pour into the ground chutney
- Serve with idli or dosa
Serves 4-6
