Gulab jamun

Gulab jamun


For jamun

Milk                      - 1 litre
sugar                     - 2 tbsp
maida                    - 1/3- 1/2cup
baking soda          - 1/2 tsp

For sugar syrup:

Sugar                          - 11/2 cup
water                  - 11/2  cup


  • in a heavy pot boil milk and put on medium
  •  Keep boiling on medium  stirring frequently until you get the khoa .

  • Add 2 tablespoon of sugar at the finishing stage and mix well
  • Remove and allow it to cool.
  • In a plate mix maida and baking soda and sieve it.

  •  mix it to the khoa little by little  and knead  to make a very soft dough.(maida may take little more or less. it depends on the yield of khoa from 1litre of milk)

    • Make the dough into small balls.

    • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry until it is golden
    • In a  pot mix water and sugar and allow it to boil well.The sugar syrup should be cooked to one string consistency.To check it take little syrup between your thumb and index finger and check if it forms a string.
    • Put inside the sugar syrup when the syrup is warm.

    •  delicious tasting Gulab jamun is ready to eat
