Mango dhal


Ingredients


Mango            -  1 (app 1/2 kg)
Toor dhal        -  1 cup
tomato             -  1 small sliced
onion               - 1/2 cup finely chopped
curry leaves     - few
green chillies   - 4-6
cilantro            -  to garnish
turmeric           -  1/4 tsp
hing                  - 1/8 tsp
mustard seeds   -  1/4 tsp
cumin seeds      -  1/4 tsp
urad dhal           -  1/4 tsp
salt                     - to taste
oil                      -  little to temper

Method:

  • In a pressure cooker add toor dhal,chopeed mango cubes,sliced tomatoes,and broken green chillies with 21/4 cups of water.



  • Pressure cook it upto 2 whistles.



  • Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,cumin seeds,hing curry leaves and turmeric.
  • Add onion and desired salt(for dhal too) fry until it turns transparent.



  • Now mix it into the dhal and garnish with cilantro.



  • Serve with Rice and papad
