Kadai Chicken



Chicken                                        - 11/4 kg
Onion                                           - 3 large finely chopped
Tomato                                         - 4 large pureed
ginger garlic paste                          - 11/2 tbsp
coriander powder                           -1 tbsp
chilli powder                                  - 2 tsp
garam masala                                 - 1 tsp
green chillies                                   -  6
kasoori methi/dried fenugreek leaves- 2 tbsp
turmeric                                          - 1/4 tsp
salt                                                 - to taste
oil                                                   -  3 - 4 tbsp

For grinding

Coriander seeds                 - 2 tbsp
red chillies                          - 8


  • In a pan dry roast coriander seeds and red chillies until nice aroma comes out of it

  •  Allow it to cool off and blend it into fine powder

  • In a kadai heat oil and add the ground powder and fry until a nice aroma comes out.

  • add finely chopped onion

  • After it turns brown add the ginger garlic paste

  • After the raw flavour goes off  add the salt,turmeric,chilli powder, coriander powder,garam masala and mix well

  • After the masala blends well add the chicken,little more salt and chopped green chillies

  • fry until the chicken turns light brown

  • Now add the purred tomatoes

  • After 2 minutes add the crushed kasoori methi and cover it with a lid

  • Cook until chicken is done and garnish with chopped cilantro

Serves 6
