Idli Upma



Idli                 -4
Onion            -1 medium
tomato           -1/2
green chilii    -3
ginger            -1/2 inch
mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
urad dal          -1/4tsp
channa dal      -1/4 tsp
curry leaves    -few
oil                   -1 tbsp
salt                 -to taste


  • Make idli into crumbs and keep it aside.Its best and easy when you refrigerate the idli in for few hours or atleast when it is cool .It doesnt come good when it is hot.
  • Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,(channdhal is optional) and curry leaves
  • Follow it by adding chopped onions,chopped greenchillies and ginger

  • Fry until the oil turns transparent and add the sliced tomatoes
  • After 2 minutes add desired salt and turmeric(remember your idli has salt in it)

  • Follow it by adding the idli crumbs

  • Stir well for another 2 minutes add Serve hot.

Serves   2
