Potato masala /Poori masala


Boiled potatoes     -  4
onion                     -  1 large sliced
green chillies        -   6-8
curry leaves         -   few
salt                       -   to taste
Pepper                   -  1 tsp
hing                      -  1 pinch
turmeric               -   1/4 tsp
oil                        -    1 tbsp
mustard seeds      -    1 tsp
urad dhal              -    1 tsp
chana dhal            -    1 tbsp
cumin seeds          -    1/2 tsp


  • Peel the skin of the boiled potatoes and keep it aside
  • In a pan heat oil add temper with mustard seeds,cumin seeds,urad dhal,chana dhal and curry leaves
  • Add hing,slitted green chillies,turmeric to it

  • Now add the sliced onions and fry until it turns transparent

  • Take potato one by one in hand squeezing it to fall into pieces into the pan

  • Add salt as needed pepper and stir well

  • After a minute add 11/2 cup of water and cover it with a lid

  • Cook until the water dries and sprinkle cilantro on the top

Serve with Poori
