Jackfruit seed curry/palapazhakottai poriyal


Ingredients:

Jackfruit seed                 - 20
mustard seeds             -1/2 tsp
urad dhal                    - 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds               - 1/2 tso
green chillies             - 3-4
curry leaves               - few
onion                         - 1/2 finely chopped
shredded coconut      - 2tbsp
cilantro                      - finely chopped
oil                              - 2 tsp
salt                             - to taste

Method:

  • Peel the white layer of the jack fruit seed and pressure cook for 1 whistle adding little water
  • After the pressure goes off drain the water and finely chop the seed
  • In a pan heat oil and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,cuminseeds,green chillies and curry leaves

  • add onion and fry it for a minute

  • Now put the finely chopped jack fruit seed and add salt

  • After two minutes of frying add the shredded coconut and chopped cilantro and stir well for another minute or two

  • Serve it with Rice and Dhal

Serves 3
