Egg parotta (muttai parotta)



All purpose flour/maida     -  2 cups
Salt                                     -  to taste
sugar                                   -  1 tsp
oil                                       - as needed
egg                                     -  5
onion                                 -1/2 finely chopped
carrot                                 - 1 finely chopped
cilantro                              - 2 tbsp finely chopped
pepper                                - 2 tsp
turmeric                              - little


  • In a large bowl mix maida,salt,sugar

  • Add 3/4 cup of water(adjust to need) and make soft and stiff dough

  • Make even sized balls and coat it with oil generously on all sides and keep it aside for 2 hours

  • Beat 5 eggs in a cup add salt,chopped onions,carrots,cilantro pepper and turmeric to it.

  • Roll the balls applying oil on the rolling pan to thin sheets as

  • Heat tawa and put the sheet on it
  • slowly pour the beaten egg batter on it 

  •  gently fold the sheets to four sides to form a square

  • Now flip the parotta on both sides until well cooked

  • Serve with any chicken curry or kurma
