Kovakkai masala/Tindooramasala


Ingredients:

Kovakkai (Tindoora)-1/4 kg
Tomato - 1 chopped
Onion - 1/2 chopped
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Cumin-1/4 tsp
GingerGarlic paste 1 tsp

Oil-2 tablespoon
Mustard-1/2 tsp seeds
Fennel seeds-1/ tsp
Curry leaves-few
Salt to taste.
Pepper powder-1/4 tsp

 
 

Method:

  • Wash the kovakkai remove the ends and  cut it into fine circle.
  • Heat one tablespoon oil in a kadai and add kovakkai fry 5 min andkeep it aside.
  • Use same kadai add remaining oil and add mustard seeds, fennel seeds, curry leaves and ginger garlic paste.
  • After the raw smell goes off add the onion  and fry till goldbrown 
  • Now add tomato and saute well.


  • Then add chilli powder,coriander and cumin powder and mix well. 
  • Now put the  fried kovakkai thats kept aside and stir well  sprinkling  little water(cook with the medium flame)

 


  • Cook till the kovaikkai  is tender.
  • Add pepper powder mix it and ready to serve.
 
 

Note:Sprinkle water in between as required.
