Tofu chukka



Ingredients:

for marinating:

Tofu - 350 g
tamarind juice - 1/2 cup
coriander powder - 1 tbsp
chilli powder - 1tbsp
salt - to taste
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
 
oil 2 tbsp

For garnishing:

curry leaves - few
big onion - 1 chopped finely
red chillies -3-4 broken into 2

To grind:

shredded coconut - 1 cup
garlic cloves - 8
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
 

Method:

  • grind the masala coarsely and keep it aside
  • Marinade the tofu in above spices and kepp it for atleast 2 hours in refrigerator
  • In a non stick pan heat 1bsp oil and fry the tofu marinade in medium heat for 6 minutes evenly on all sides
  • now add the ground masala and cook it on low flame for 5 -7 minuted or until the raw flavour of garlic goes off
  • simultaneously in another pan pour 1 tbsp oil and add red chillies,curry leaves and onion
  • fry until the onion is golden brown adding little salt to it
  • garnish over the cooked tofu and switch off the stove
  • Serve it as an accompaniment with any kind of spicy pulav
